A.M.S. AUSTRALIA - 34m 3200bhp OSV/AHT built completed

Australia Marine Services recently launched their 34m 3200bhp Anchor Handling Tug / Offshore Support Vessel, “A.M.S. AUSTRALIA” in Shanghai. Sea trials were completed early January and the results have exceeded expectations. Powered by a pair of US built Cummins KTA50-M2 main engines  rated at 1600bhp@1800rpm each,  the tug achieved a top speed of 13.6knts and  was certified with a bollard pull of 41 Tonnes.

For towing and anchor handling operations the tug is equipped with hydraulic waterfall double drum winch rated at 50T@15m/min with brake holding up to 100T, paired with 85T towing pins and 100T shark jaws along with a 100T stern roller. A 50T winch with 80T break up forward, 20T knuckle boom crane, 45T towing hook and 5T tugger winch complete the deck machinery.

The tug has accommodation for 11 crew in 3 x single cabins and 4 x two man cabins.

The A.M.S. AUSTRALIA carries 320m3 of fuel oil and 30m3 of fresh water and can transfer fuel oil at 35m3/ per hour.
